The Position
Environmental Scientists perform program research, planning and development, permitting, compliance monitoring, inspections/enforcement, and technical support services in relation to air, water, waste, federal facilities, corrective action, mining, biology, and other environmental programs.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE ANNOUNCED CLOSING DATE BASED ON VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. ** This position is located in the Bureau of Air Quality Planning. The position is responsible for working within specified aspects of atmospheric science. The incumbent is responsible to perform air dispersion models, operate and manage meteorological sensors and data loggers, perform data acquisition and the subsequent GIS and statistical analyses. The incumbent should have good research, writing and communication skills.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor’s degree in the physical or life sciences, engineering or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Position Experience
    Experience operating and managing meteorological sensors and data loggers.
